12.3 Zone-Wise Pricing – User Manual

Overview

Yelowsoft introduces Zone-Wise Pricing, an advanced feature that allows taxi and dispatch companies to define pricing dynamically based on geographical regions (zones).
This enables flexible fare structures for pickups and drop-offs from specific areas such as airports, hotels, city zones, or designated service territories.

1️⃣ Step 1: Create Zones (Territories)

Before configuring zone pricing, the admin must create zones on the map.

Steps:

1. Navigate to the Admin Panel.
2. Click on Pricing from the left-hand menu.
3. Select Manage Zones.
4. Click New to create a zone.
5. Enter the Zone Name.
6. Define Zone Type:
   • Pickup – Zone used only for trip origin.
   • Drop-off – Zone used only for trip destination.
   • Both – Zone can be used for both pickup and drop-off.
7. Draw the geographic boundary using the map or search bar (Google-powered).
8. Save the zone.

2️⃣ Step 2: Configure Zone-Wise Pricing

Once zones are defined, zone-specific pricing can be created.

Steps:

1. Navigate to Pricing → Zone Pricing.
2. Click New to create a new zone pricing entry.
3. Define pricing parameters:

Pickup Type:

• Any Location – Pickup can be from anywhere.
• Zone – Pickup must be from a specific zone.

Drop-off Type:

• Zone – Destination is a defined zone.
• Any Location – Drop-off can be anywhere.
• Fixed Destination – Predefined landmark (airport, hotel, etc.).

Drop-Off Type Explanation

• Any Location: Trip can end anywhere, but pricing applies based on the pickup zone.
• Zone: Pricing applies when trip occurs between two specific zones.
• Fixed Destination: Fixed fare applies for trips involving a specific address or landmark.

3️⃣ Add Surge or Additional Charges

Admins can configure:

• Surge Pricing: Time-based pricing for specific zones.
• Toll/Parking Fees: Fixed fees assigned to either driver or company.

Example: Pickup at an airport with a $20 entry fee will automatically include that in the fare.

4️⃣ Select Vehicle Types

Admins can assign zone-based pricing to specific vehicle categories to align pricing with service levels.

5️⃣ Choose Price Type

Three pricing models are supported within zone pricing:

• Flat Rate: Single fixed amount, no per-km or time-based calculation.
• Custom Rate: Charges configurable like base fare, per km, per minute, etc.
• Meter Pricing: Applies pre-defined meter pricing rules (range-based or per-km).
